Before, During & After

To answer the questions you may have about the process here is some guidance to help you to make the most of your session.

Before your session

Coming to this work with intention and full presence is going to help you step into the process. From booking your session you may start to notice the things, people, patterns and emotions that are calling your attention. Bring this awareness to your session as it may form a part of your intention for the session. And then be open to what comes up in our consultation and when you are on the massage table.

Prior to session I will ask you to complete a consultation form, this will give me some understanding of you and your experience, and it also means this time is not used within your session. I am required by my insurer to have a consultation form for all clients and I follow all GDPR laws.

I am not able to work with people in active psychosis. If you have had psychosis over two years ago then we can work together, but please discuss this with me further at the time of booking. I am also unable to work with pregnant women in their first trimester of pregnancy.

During your session

The session lasts either for 1.5 hours or 2 hours, depending on which session you book. We will begin by  explore what's coming up for you, what's calling your attention and we will both set an intention for the work.

You will then be asked to lay on the massage table with blankets to cover your modesty and to keep you warm. This is a form of body work so there will be touch, I work from a trauma informed perspective so you are invited to tell me if there any no go zones, apart from the obvious - this can also be very individual based on your own experiences.

The work has three main elements throughout, but there is also a set sequence which I follow:

1) presence & connection

2) uncovering and working through the emotional body

3) healing through a feminine healing energy, which I have been initiated in by my teacher Laura Oseland.

After your session

After the somatic part of the session you will have space to explore elements of the work, however I will try and encourage you where necessary to not be preoccupied by the mind trying to make sense of the healing journey. Allow it time to percolate and be in the felt sense of your experience. I suggest you give yourself at least the next few hours to have time to yourself. As with all energetic and therapeutic work drink plenty of water, rest and give space for reflection, perhaps journaling. I invite you to be your own compassionate witness. If you have questions or reflections in the days following your session I am available for a chat, just reach out. â€‹

If I have concerns about your safety or the safety of another, I will discuss this with you and recommend seeking appropriate support. If I feel you would be best supported by an alternative practitioner or modality I will share this with you.
